She wandered quietly in the quiet graveyard. The wind was howling, the sun's falling and the warm summer temperatures were slowly going down. She was hopping a little bit, even after all of this time her deformed leg was still a burden. She looked back sadly at her twisted and dislocated hind leg. She almost wished she'd stayed in the lab long enough for them to just cut it off. Save a little pain, eh? But she was afraid of the humans. They were dangerous. They hurt her and they made her feel uncomfortable with all their poking and prodding. She didn't like the Lab so she ran away. They tried to chase her but she got away. Her friends probably thought she was dead. If they were even her friends.
A tree off in the distance was waving violently in the wind. She'd already forgotten what she'd been thinking about moments before, but she was glad she'd stopped. She was pretty sure it was unpleasant thoughts. Ever since the Lab had stuck her with the big needle with the blue stuff her memory had been a come-and-go thing. She remembered things when her brain wanted to. Memories of pain and hurt always came first and stayed the longest. Like being taken into the Lab. Being used like an experiment on different desks and being needled by different scary humans. Watching other wolves die from the experiments. They say she was the strong one. Or did she say that to someone else?
She found herself wandering over to the shaking tree. She thought she saw something move behind it. But she was probably just hallucinating again. That happened a lot too, but she forgot why. But she didn't usually hear things when she hallucinated, but this thing was making noise. She hesitantly coughed, and quietly barked "Hello... the last time I checked my name was Madi. Or Number 413. I don't remember. But I don't and can't fight. My leg is messed up. So don't hurt me please. Who are you?" She leaned back and forth uncomfortably while she waited for a response.
