If the pit bull could have heard his thoughts she could have answered the questions. No, she didn’t understand, she would never understand. She had never hunted with another canine before; she had never really hunted on her own. Scavenging was much easier alone; Kaiah wasn’t exactly as fast canine. Though she did have the classic prey drive of the pit bull terrier, her rather short legs and bulky size left her at a bit of a downfall and running after stuff wasn’t really her favourite thing. Not saying Kaiah was any bit of lazy, maybe just not the type to kill another being. She listened for another minute and had a hard time understanding the fact that he walked around a ring with humans and let them touch him and open his mouth and such. This show was quite confusing for sure, but the femme wished to just shake off the confusion and focused on the male’s new words.
Nodding the fae could agree, white must be a hard coat to stay clean, humans obviously liked him clean, which was why he was so clean and proper. As much confusion that held over her the femme was quite interested in this male, he thought so highly of his humans, they must have taken good care of him. “The humans I lived with were very cruel, I was often in a cage, they wanted me to be mean and fight. The scar around my mouth, they tied a wire around it for days. They kicked me, the streets is better. You get the same amount of food, water and well the people don’t bother you as much.” A paw moved over her maw once, the thin scarring around her mouth clear to her. “Surely there are good and bad humans, I’m sure you have good ones, even if it is hard to understand.” The femme wasn’t about to make such a risk, it was hard to think humans could be so wonderful.
No matter the confusion all the words Astro spoke made the blue brindle a bit jealous. She longed for the company, humans and canines it didn’t matter. A big part of her just wanted love, she had never felt such a feeling though heard of it so much. The white dog clearly loved his family and by the sounds of his voice they loved him. That brought so much jealousy over the canine, how wonderful love would have been. Maybe the dame would have been a different dog if there was that much love in her life.

Astro could tell that his words had not simplified the matter for the fae standing in front of him, but he could think of no other way of explaining it. It was as if each was speaking a different language, and neither was able to make the other understand what they meant. The show seemed to confuse her the most, and that Astro could understand, from what the strays he had overheard beside his yard one night had said and complained about.
As she started talking about her life, Astro was both shocked and relieved at the same time. Shocked, because he could never imagine his humans doing anything of the sort to him, relieved, for now he knew that the strays he heard once in a while had not been over exaggerating, even if their stories had sounded far fetched to his pampered ears. As she mentioned the scar, he felt as if she had given him permission to look at her face, and took that permission to take in the somewhat blunt muzzle. There was a faint ridge across it, what she had called a ‘scar.’ He himself had a few of those, although his were from work and play, not evil intentions. As she stated that humans could be good and bad, he felt a rock drop from his heart. She must have understood that his humans were not bad to him, and that he would never have let anyone slander them in front of him, without raising a lip, at the very least.
He could tell that the fae was envious of something, he always had been able to sense feelings well. He could not identify their source, however. Somehow, that part always eluded him, but it was not hard to guess the reason this time. She was alone, and he had a family to care for him. Unlike her, he had someone that cared if he came home that night, or would look for him if he did not come back. That was something that he should be proud of, but all he could feel was… regret? He would like to see the world, not just on the end of a leash, but as he wanted to. The humans would never allow that, he knew, but that was the heart of the matter.
(I can end it, if you would like? I can’t think of much else to say, I have a good idea how to finish this off.)
